Learning through play activities for children's first year

Today we’re sharing 4 developmental-based activities for children starting at age one.

Sensory Play: Children will enjoy experiencing different textures. Try incorporating sands, soils, or leaves into a child’s play routine. This will enhance the play experience and help children develop fine motor skills.

Outdoor Play: During a child’s first year, they may start to express an interest in outdoor exploration. Playgrounds are ideal as they encourage children to exercise their physical and social skills.

Musical Play: Musical play helps with the development of emotional skills, creativity as well as physical skills. Encourage children to jump and dance to match the rhythms of the music!

Shape Grasping: Children can experience different shapes and sizes through stacking, nesting, and sorting. Colorful shapes are also great attention-grabbers!
